Heart of Midlothian winger Alexandros Kyziridis made his international debut.
The 25-year-old came on as a second-half substitute in Sunday’s 1-0 friendly defeat to Italy,
A few nights before, Kyziridis was named on the bench versus Sweden but didn’t come on, despite manager Ivan Jovanovic making 10 substitutes throughout the match.
On Sunday, he replaced Giorgos Masouras on 62 minutes to make his national team debut in the Pankritio Stadium in Heraklion, on the island of Crete.
Elsewhere, Craig Gordon was an unused substitute in Scotland’s impressive 4-0 win over Bolivia in a World Cup warm-up friendly on Saturday night.
The 43-year-old goalkeeper started the previous friendly win over Curacao and was replaced by third-choice Liam Kelly in the second half. It suggests that Angus Gunn is the No.1 going into the tournament in Canada, Mexico and the United States.
Lawrence Shankland scored the opening goal in the Sports Illustrated Stadium in New Jersey, later setting up Scott McTominay for his goal. Shankland agreed a move to Rangers recently, meaning the clubs will split the World Cup compensation between them.
Also on Saturday, Islam Chesnokov came off the bench in a 1-1 draw with Armenia, replacing Galymzhan Kenzhebek. The friendly match took place in the Armenian capital, Yerevan.
The forward looks set to leave Hearts this summer and return to his homeland.
On the same day, Cammy Devlin was a late substitute for Australia in a 1-1 draw with Switzerland. The game took place at the Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego, as part of both teams' World Cup preparations.
Landry Kabore was another to make a second-half appearance as a substitute, as he came on for Burkina Faso in a 3-0 friendly defeat to Russia, in Volgograd. Kabore replaced Mohamed Konate on 70 minutes with the score at 2-0.
Meanwhile, Rogers Mato’s Uganda were supposed to play a double-header friendly versus Tanzania, with the first taking place on Friday night and the second on Monday morning. However, the matches were cancelled due to public health concerns.
A post on the Ugandan national team Instagram page said: “The two International Friendly matches against Tanzania and Madagascar have been cancelled due to sanitary and public health considerations as communicated by authorities through our match agents.”
On Tuesday, Burkina Faso are in action once again, this time against Belarus in Minsk, while Kazakhstan are in Debrecen to face Hungary.
