Lawrence Shankland's exit from Heart of Midlothian has been confirmed. The striker has joined Rangers, ending his four-year stint at Tynecastle Park.
The 30-year-old's move to Ibrox follows a quick process, which saw the player invoke a break clause in his three-year deal at Hearts ahead of the preparations for Scotland's World Cup campaign.
The break clause, which was a key stipulation when the player re-signed with Hearts last summer, sees Shankland move to Rangers for free.
He departs Hearts after 88 goals in 171 appearances. He finished as the top scorer in each of his four seasons at the club. On three occasions, he hit the 20-goal mark, with one of those a 31-goal campaign.
The club statement said: "Heart of Midlothian can confirm that Lawrence Shankland is leaving the club to join Rangers.
"The striker will make the move to Ibrox on undisclosed terms once the summer transfer window opens on June 15th.
"We thank Lawrence for all of his efforts during his four years in Gorgie."
The Scottish Premiership runners-up have already begun the process of replacing Shankland ahead of the transfer window opening in June.
Shankland admitted it was his "dream" to play for Rangers.
"I am delighted to be here and to have this opportunity. Rangers is my boyhood club, and it has always been a dream to play here, so I was really keen to get it done," he said.
"A lot of hard graft has gone in to get to this point, and I'm just really happy. The club are in a position where they want to get back to winning silverware more regularly, and I want to be a big part of that, so that's what I have come here to do."
