The referee and his VAR team for this weekend's Edinburgh derby has been confirmed by the Scottish FA.

When Heart of Midlothian line up to face Hibs at Easter Road, experienced whistler Don Robertson will be the man in the middle.

He will be assisted by Ross Macleod and David Roome.

Meanwhile, Greg Aitken will be in charge of VAR and he will be assisted by Gary Hilland.

Hearts will be hoping to avoid the same outcome as the last time they visited Leith as they lost 3-2 following a really slow start to the game before almost snatching a draw at the death.

The stakes are high with Derek McInnes' side still top of the league heading into the post-split fixtures, and Hibs have fourth place and a spot in Europe to play for.

Hearts have won the other two derbies this season, late goals from Craig Halkett and Tomas Magnusson handing them 1-0 wins at Tynecastle.

Robertson took charge of the derby in May 2023 when there was an on-field tussle between both sets of players after a 1-1 draw which secured Hearts fourth place ahead of Hibs.
