Heart of Midlothian have suffered a fresh injury blow with the news Stephen Kingsley is set to miss another five weeks.
The defender had been making progress in his return from a groin injury, which had initially seen him ruled out for six weeks, but an issue developed with his calf.
Derek McInnes revealed the club sent the player for a scan and the results were less than positive.
"Kingsley had a wee bit of setback. So, initially, he went out with a groin injury before Dundee. We were doing set plays. But he's now picked up a calf injury doing the work," he said.
"We got him scanned. Unfortunately, he'll be out for another five weeks, which is far from ideal."
Craig Halkett will return from suspension for Sunday's trip to Ibrox to face Rangers and Christian Borchgrevink, following more training, comes into contention for the squad.
McInnes also confirmed the latest on Cammy Devlin and Lawrence Shankland. The pair were ruled out for between six and eight weeks following injuries sustained last month.
As reported by Hearts Standard last month, the Australian midfielder had an outside chance of being available for the Aberdeen game later this month.
"Cammy, you speak to the physios, you think Aberdeen's going to come too soon for him. You speak to Cammy, he thinks he'll make it," McInnes said ahead of the Rangers game.
"Lawrence [Shankland] will be the back end of March. Having two league games just in March helps us because of the international break and stuff.
"So, I think Lawrence will miss his next three in February and the two games in March. And then, hopefully, he'll be back available."
