Come 5pm, Heart of Midlothian could have a nine-point lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership.
Dundee, managed by former Hearts captain Steven Pressley, are the visitors at Tynecastle Park, and with Celtic involved in the Premier Sports Cup semi-finals, there is the opportunity to increase their advantage over the Scottish champions.
They come into the game having come from behind twice to earn a point at St Mirren during the week.
The game also marked the first time since 1986 that a Hearts manager had named the same starting XI for six games in a row.
Speaking after the 2-2 draw with the Buddies, McInnes noted: "The same team six games in a row, which is unheard of in football... unheard of from me!"
But will he keep it going for game number seven?
"I need to sit down with the staff and we'll go through that. This is the third game in six days, effectively. We've got good options from the bench. I think it's important that we consider everything," McInnes said on Wednesday.
"Against another team who don't play with two strikers, they play with one striker, but they play with a deep, back five and they have a counter-attacking threat, two ball-carriers either side of [Simon] Murray. They've got their feet up tonight and we're knocking out pan in. We need to look at everything going into the game."
The bigger surprise would be if there weren't changes. But what will those changes be?
A key thing to note is that sweeping changes are not likely. There would be the danger of that being too disruptive. There needs to be consistency.
Realistically, there are three possibilities. A 4-4-2 similar to what has been fielded, a more attack-minded 4-4-2 with two out-and-out wingers or a 4-3-3.
The latter would be perfect for Ageu. The Brazilian midfielder views his best role as a No.8. Another route into the starting XI is playing narrow off one of the sides in a 4-4-2. Having only played twice off the bench since May, a key question is whether he is ready for a start.
A more attack-minded 4-4-2 would provide Sabah Kerjota with an opportunity to play on the right, keeping with McInnes' preference for inverted wingers with Alexandros Kyziridis on the right. In turn, Harry Milne could return to left-back.

There could also be a change at right full-back. Oisin McEntee has been a solid presence but Michael Steinwender has been a consistent performer off the bench. Then there is Christian Borchgrevink, the right-back signed in the summer. If he is not starting games, he is unlikely to make the bench due to Steinwender's versatility.
As for the 4-3-3, McInnes has options either side of Lawrence Shankland. He could keep with Claudio Braga and Kyziridis. He could go for Kerjota or Landry Kabore, who impressed off the bench on Wednesday.
The 4-3-3 could be attractive against what will be a back five. The three can stretch the Dundee defence and can be supported from wide by Milne.
With the counter threat, McInnes would be reluctant to drop Beni Baningime and Cammy Devlin. But it offers the chance to bring in Ageu if fit enough or Tomas Magnusson, who can provide a central thrust. Alternatively, McEntee could be moved back in there.
