Neil Critchley will include Cammy Devlin in his Heart of Midlothian squad for Saturday's trip to Celtic Park.
The Australian midfielder has been missing with a concussion since the Scottish Cup fifth-round win over St Mirren last month.
Devlin played in a bounce game last week and is now ready for selection.
Defender Jamie McCart returned to full training this week following a thigh injury and will also be included in the squad to face Celtic this weekend as Hearts bid for a top-six spot in the Scottish Premiership.
However, Gerald Taylor has been ruled out for a number of weeks after picking up a knee injury while on international duty with Costa Rica. It is a different knee injury from the one that ruled him out earlier in the season.
It leaves Critchley short of options at right-back, with 19-year-old Adam Forrester the only available player who naturally plays that position.
Meanwhile, long-term injured trio Craig Halkett, Stephen Kingsley and Frankie Kent have all returned to contact training although timelines on their returns are unclear.
Critchley said: "Unfortunately, Gerald got injured on international duty, his knee. He arrived back yesterday and we've assessed him today. It looks like he'll be out for a few weeks.
"Some players are getting close because they've trained this week. So it was nice to have Frankie Kent, Stephen Kingsley and Craig Halkett back on the pitch at the same time.
"Their presence on the pitch was welcomed. They're experienced players.
"Jamie McCart has trained the last couple of days. Aidan Denholm is still out.
"And Devlin comes in. Finally. He played here [at Oriam in a friendly] just before we had a little break. He played 90 minutes."
