Steven Naismith is the Heart of Midlothian head coach, having been appointed to the role on a permanent basis in September 2023.

The former Kilmarnock, Rangers and Everton striker was part of Steve Clarke’s staff for the Scotland national team when he retired from playing, and also served as Hearts’ player development manager before taking charge of the B team in 2022.

When Robbie Neilson was sacked towards the end of the 2022/23 Scottish Premiership season, Naismith was named as his replacement on an interim basis. After impressing during his temporary stint, the former Scotland internationalist was then named as the club’s technical director in June 2023 before being appointed head coach in September 2023.

Naismith guided Hearts to the Scottish Cup and League Cup semi-finals during his first full season in charge, as well as sealing third place – and guaranteed European league phase football in the 2024/25 season – in impressive fashion.
